Plate & Frame Filter Press

  • Media Type: Filter Cloth (Polypropylene, Polyester, or Nylon)
  • Material: Various woven or non-woven synthetic fabrics
  • Operating Temperature: Generally 80°C – 100°C (depending on plate and cloth material)
  • Resistance:
    • Hydrolysis: Variable (depends on fiber choice)
    • Acids: Excellent (if using Polypropylene cloth)
    • Alkalis: Excellent (if using Polypropylene cloth)
  • Typical Applications: Wastewater treatment, chemical processing, mining/slurry dewatering, and food and beverage (e.g., wine/oil filtration).
Description & Usage

The filter press uses pressure to force liquid through a series of stacked plates covered in filter cloth. It is ideal for solid-liquid separation where a high-solids content “filter cake” must be recovered. The cloth must be selected based on the chemical compatibility of the slurry and the desired particle retention size.
